Biography:

Kim Haesol was born to parents who were in the music industry, in their own ways. His father was a marketing executive at one of the major labels, and his mother was a renowned pianist, frequently travelled all over the world for shows with many an orchestra. His two older sisters were shuttled to private schools and their own dance and instrument lessons, while a nanny looked after Haesol. Their parents were very busy people, it was a wonder they'd managed to have children at all.

He was forced into a similar life, though he was blissfully spared dance lessons in lieu of swimming, though it took a few years for him to settle on piano as the instrument he wanted to learn. His mother was overjoyed when she eventually found out, and a rift grew between he and his sisters, because there was no secret that Haesol was her favorite. Even his insistence that it was just the thing he liked the most fell on deaf ears.

It was around that time that the eye pain and the headaches got the best of him, and six months or so of hospital and doctor visits later, he found out that he had photophobia, or a light senstivity in his eyes; his was extreme enough to need to wear sunglasses even indoors. A year after that, he got braces for the first time. It was a theme- he'd have the braces on for a few years, and once they were removed, his teeth would shift back on their own. Despite getting permanent braces in high school, as discrete as they were, he found that having wear the sunglasses constantly had a certain allure to females. He earned a reputation as something of a playboy, just was never drawn to one person enough to settle down.

As expected of any 'prodigal' son, Haesol was certain to attend college, though he opted to stay in Seoul and attend Yonsei rather than go to Berkley like his mother wanted. Nor did he want to major in anything that directly related to piano, though that skill would certainly come in handy. No, he chose to major in music composition and theory, which had always interested him. He hadn't been planning on rushing into a fraternity, but after a wild night of partying and what might have been an orgy (no one could remember), he was welcomed into Kappa Alpha Order. He wasn't as much of a jock as they might have liked, but he did join the swim team, and got along well with everyone. Sometimes he wondered if it was the right choice, especially after just how bad the hazing got for the pledges in the two years that followed, but the friends he made would be his friends for life.

In his senior year, he made the decision to quit the swim team and focus more intently on his studies, though he did continue his membership in his other extracurricular activities, had already decided to stay on at Yonsei for a couple of years and work on a masters degree prior to working in the field. Over the summer he interned at the Sydney Opera House for six weeks, spent an extra month there learning to surf and just relaxing before he had to get back to his real life. He returned just days before the start of the semester, ready for the challenges that his masters classes would hold, and looking forward to another year with the best friends anyone could ask for.. as long as hazing isn't in the picture.
